What you, and many others do not understand, is that troubleshooting a connection is not a 2-3 step process. If you had a background in networking/IT, you would understand.

 

Do you know how many wires make up an Ethernet cable? The answer is eight. If ONE of those wires were to get damaged, it could cause an intermittent connection. Sure it could work fine today, but what about tomorrow? Next week? Next YEAR? 

 

The same goes for RG-6. "Well what is that?", the coaxial cable typically used on broadband.

 

Once you have checked your equipment, as well as ANY and All cables, and it still does not work, it could be on Sony's side...or your ISP.
